JCP&L has launched MyTown feature on their website that provides information for outages, estimated restoration times and infrastructure information. Viewing outages affecting Freehold Township as well as a snapshot of the electric infrastructure can be accessed through their website at www.firstenergycorp.com/mytown.
The 24/7 Power Center outage maps are available and can be found at www.firstenergycorp.com/outages. The maps provide individual outages, with best available estimated restoration times , as well as the cause of the service distruption when available.
A new web-based option for customers to receive an updated status has been provided. When customers log in to their account, they can now view the estimated restoration time and the cause of a reported outage, or learn of other outages in the area.
Several new services have been provided to customers which include email alerts, text message alerts, and smart phone apps. Alert preferences can be updated at www.jcp-l.com. Customers can send a text message to 544487 (LIGHTS) to report a power outage, request an update on restoration efforts, and make other inquires about their electric account. To get started with this service, text "REG" to 544487.
