Children are required to be immunized against a variety of diseases and must have an accurate and updated schedule of immunizations. Health inspectors audit both public and private schools and daycares for compliance. Those children who do not receive timely vaccinations are omitted from school until they comply with Chapter 14 of the State Sanitary Code.
Low-cost or free immunizations for children are available through our network with the Visiting Nurses Association of Central Jersey. Immunizations for both children and adults are given as per the recommended schedule, published by the Centers for Disease Control. Recommended travel immunizations may be obtained by calling 732-613-0033. See the 2018 Recommended Immunizations for Children (PDF).
