Volunteer Opportunities

An Historic Opportunity for You

Your chance to help preserve local history is here! By joining the Freehold Township Heritage Society, you will help the Freehold community to get to know the historical background of their "hometown".

We need your talents to help residents, school children, and visitors from out of town understand and interpret how we got where we are. You would have a part in giving educational experiences to them to see what it was like generations ago as previous residents struggled with their particular issues.

Involvement Opportunities

This is an exciting chance for you to be a part of giving back. We have many opportunities to become involved. You can choose from participating in our Spring and Fall festivals, Spring Tea, holiday programs, giving house and farm tours, sharing your knowledge, putting our written history in the computer, and providing educational opportunities to become an important part in preserving and passing on the important history of our area.

Any areas that you have experience in that you think would help us in our endeavors would be greatly appreciated, and new ideas are always welcome.

Committees

The following are committees we need help with. Please review and let us know if you would be interested in serving on one or more.

  • Publicity Committee
  • Nominating Committee for Officers
  • Volunteers Committee
  • Fund-raising/Events Committee

Join Up!

From our beginning in the early 1600s as the County Seat to our role in the Revolutionary War, to the importance of our farms in feeding the people and generating policies and legislation, to the Underground Railroad, and the building of our community, you can have a part in passing this important information on to the next generation.

Consider being a part of this great cause, become a leader, and join us as we strive to reach out to you, our neighbors, to join our cause.

The Society has been in existence for 10 years, and we are a 501c3 non-profit corporation. We welcome any help you can give. Please browse through our website to see what we have accomplished and the historic sites that we have been able to preserve and are currently maintaining. You can email us if you have any questions.

Dues are payable to Freehold Township Heritage Society at $20 per person or $25 per family.
